  21. Chicago Computer Broker has been quite prolific in putting out CD-ROM
  22. titles.  They have such titles published as Windows 1993, Shareware 1993
  23. I & II, Smutware and Super Smutware.

  25. Generally, I find most of their titles to suffer in a number of
  26. respects.  This title was better off than most of their products, but it
  27. still contains a lot of problems.

  29. First, I'll cover what they managed to do right this time.  The file
  30. descriptions provided were actually pretty good this time around, and
  31. the directory tree structure was clean and crisp.  Most of the time
  32. their products have a tree structure that looks like a roadmap of
  33. Hoboken, NJ.  I'm not a person that listens to much in the way of sound,
  34. so I can't judge the quality of the sounds on the disc, but the
  35. descriptions were etter than on some products that I've seen out before.

  37. Still in the negative category are such things as a lack of BBS support.
  38. Sure, it has PCBoard listings in one subdirectory, but no other BBS
  39. types are supported. And there are NO listings in any of the files
  40. subdirectories.  That can be a major pain for some SysOps.  The user
  41. interface was more of a joke than anything, being a shareware copy of
  42. Zipmaster that was hard configured to use C: as your hard drive and D:
  43. as your CD-ROM.  If that's not your configuration, tough cookies.

  45. Overall, I have to give this one a mixed review.  If you are a SysOp
  46. looking for something neat, this one has nice file descriptions and a
  47. filecount that, while not quite matching up to the 9,000 sounds
  48. description, is still pretty good.  If you are an end user, make sure
  49. that you are comfortable in DOS before purchasing this disc, as the
  50. "user interface" will offer you NO help whatsoever.
